The Vineyard

Management and care of the vineyard is under the expert direction of Cristina Francisquinho, one of the Alentejo’s best known and most respected viticulturists.

Cristina_FrancisquinhoCristina Francisquinho was born in Portalegre, in the heart of Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, Portugal.

After completing her degree in Agricultural Sciences, she began working as a wine-grape production technician in Alto Alentejo  in 1999 for various grape production entities of Vinho Regional Alentejano and was Director of a production cooperative winery.

Currently she works as a consultant and agricultural technician for different vineyards in the Alto Alentejo wine production region.

Her mission is to enhance the vineyards by application of good agricultural and environmental practices to improve productivity and  grape quality to facilitate the production of  wines of excellence.

Cristina also assists with the vocational training of young adults in agriculture and vineyard work.
