Sonhador Alvarinho

Sonhador Alvarinho

Sonhador Alvarinho is produced in the demarcated Vinho Verde region of Melgaço in northern Portugal, one of two special sub-regions where the Alvarinho grape can be cultivated. It shows the typical varietal characters from this mountainous region, minerality, persistent acidity and exotic fruit – notes of lime, mango and tangerine.

  • 100% Alvarinho from the Melgaço region. Hand picked into plastic crates

  • Bunch sorted prior to destemming and crushing. 48 hrs cold settling. Then 3 week fermentation with added yeast at 13-15°C

Wine Analysis

  • Alcohol: 13.3%, pH: 3.22, Total acidity: 7.84g/l, Volatile acidity 0.36 g/l

Tasting Notes

  • Bright, crystal clear, light/green pale straw colour. Exotic fruit aromas. Notes of lime, mango and tangerine enhanced by complex minerality, well balanced, focused acidity leading to a persistent finish.

Serving Suggestion

  • Ideal with shellfish or as a refreshing aperitif. Serving temperature 10-12°C
